Sukhman 2026 – Youth Mental Wellbeing was organised by The Kalgidhar Trust (Akal Psychiatric Services & Drug De-Addiction Centres) on World Mental Health Day, 10 October 2026, at Gurdwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, Sector 34, Chandigarh.

Aligned with the theme “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change,” the one-day programme brought together mental health professionals, people in recovery, caregivers, educators and community members. Highlights included opening Shabad Kirtan by Akal Academy students, a powerful theatrical performance on digital addiction by Manthan Group, a personal recovery story shared by Mr. Vikram Sethi, and expert sessions on stress, anxiety, disability & caregiver mental health, and the role of spirituality, seva and resilience.

Interactive elements such as the Thrive Board, mental-health book corner, Chardikala Studio and SOREM stall made the day participatory. The event reinforced that recovery needs clinical care, dignity, family support and a stigma-free community, and received coverage in national English, Hindi and Punjabi publications.
